Ginzan Onsen
Ginzan Hot Springs were so named because the area had prospered as a large silver mine (or ginzan, in Japanese) in the early Edo period. Quaint wooden inns line along the banks of the Ginzan River, which flows through the center of the hot springs town. Ginzan Hot Springs are said to have been the model for the animated film, “Spirited Away.” There are public baths and foot baths that can be used for free or for low prices, so please feel free to fully enjoy the hot springs of Ginzan.
