Miyagi prefecture with its capital in Sendai, is blessed with many fishing ports providing an abundance of high quality fresh fish. As Miyagi also grows delicious rice, it is known for its high-quality sushi and Sendai Zuke-don, which is a specialty rice bowl dish of fresh white fish marinated in a special sauce.
